Let’s get straight into it. Most garden buildings you’ll see advertised online are timber-clad boxes on a concrete pad, put up in a couple of days and looking tired within five years. Nice enough in the brochure photo, less nice once the cladding’s started to cup and the roof felt is peeling at the corners. That’s not really what we do here at HUTI. We build structures throughout Salcombe, using proper oak framing, the same construction method we’d use for a full-sized barn or an off-grid timber cabin, just scaled down to fit a back garden.

An oak frame handles moisture differently. The wood is naturally durable, and as long as the detailing at ground level is right, you’re looking at decades of use rather than a handful of years before it needs replacing.
